Carlos was great in how he adjusted the bike routes to suit our needs. We will consider another bike tour with Saranjan and recommend to friends.

Hotel Siuranella: Amazing experience, a highlight of our trip!

Suzy McQuaid, Seattle

We loved Mary. She was above and beyond. Would tell friends to go if they go to Spain. Fabulous, educational, inspirations, fun-the Wine Tasting Course in Madrid was a highlight.

Suzy McQuaid, Seattle

Great itinerary. We had a fabulous time and we will tell all our friends about you. We are glad that we used your company.

Art & Architecture of Portugal:

I can't imagine a better, more perfect guide for this group. Gabriella is bright, charming and a real pleasure to travel with. An especial talent of hers is her sensitivity to the group and her flexibility in varying the schedule to accommodate needs for food, rest or changes. I would love to travel again with her and I think we all would love to keep her as a friend! Thanks for picking her!! Thank you for a special trip.

N.H., Santa Barbara, CA

Portugal & the North:

I had a terrific time. Enjoyed seeing and learning about Portugal-the people, the history, the country's products, the food. Very well planned tour agenda. Many thanks.

J.S., Santa Barbara, CA

Bilbao & Basque Country:

Good grief! How can a guide be fluent in Spanish as well as Basque. Also an art historian. Also a gastronome. Also a student of oenology. I swear she knows everyone in Spain-and they all love her. She as an excellent driver with a thorough knowledge of every place we visited and a charming person to boot. My highest compliments!

Andalucia & Old Castile

I have always designed by own trips, so I was a little nervous about letting you take over. But your company is so thorough and so knowledgeable that all I had to do was relax and enjoy it. You've earned our highest praise. Thanks so much!

Wine Roads by Bike

Carlos was amazing. Hard-working, so pleasant to be with, he couldn't have been better. He made sure to accommodate all our crazy food issues (lunches were great). He was great in how he adjusted the bike routes to suit our needs. He provided a lot of useful info on Spain. He was great in working on the bikes. I would recommend him to anyone. We will consider another bike tour with Saranjan again and recommend to friends.

Bilbao, Basque Country & Old Castile

I get in trouble at home for excess enthusiasm but I am feeling very effusive about the trip that you arranged! Carol is the absolute best guide ever. She tailored the trip to be exactly what I wanted. She is patient, thoughtful, kind and a joy to travel with. I would like to be informed of any food and wine tours to Spain or Portugal which you might offer in the future.

L.R. with Bryan Travel San Mateo, CA

Portugal & the South

Thank you so much for planning the trip of a lifetime. It was amazing! And it wouldn't have been nearly as good without your planning and assistance. All of our guides were amazing-friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Again, thank you!

The train was fun! Meals were wonderful from the champagne brunch to the elegant restaurant meals. Guides, bus driver, people who worked on the train were terrific! Very attentive and helpful. Excellent stops-good pacing. Some time each day for a walk around town or a coffee or some shopping.

Camino de Santiago

I loved this place. Perfect-close to the Camino, lovely large rooms in a great country house. A special place, a wonderful place to stay They will cook dinner for you. We had cows mooing every night, good fun and great painting.

E.N, Seattle

Wine Roads

The bodegas we were taken to were amazing. We were met by friendly informed staff who patiently answered our questions, provided plenty of tasting, and who never made us feel rushed. The tour exceeded our expectations.

J.S., Seattle, WA

Camino de Santiago

We saw Saranjan mentioned as a resource in Modern Maturity's story about Shirley MacLaine and Santiago. Sounds like she had been there in her previous life! Anyway, thanks again for the most enjoyable tour we have ever taken. Some of the Washington area tourers are getting together on Jan 27th to reminisce.

Grand tour

Your people are fabulous! Everyone was on time, efficient, accommodating and the kind of people I'd love to have for friends. Without exception, your guides were focused on giving us the best possible experience in the smoothest and most pleasant way. Their kindness and graciousness towards my mother, who needed the wheelchairs your folks obtained for us, allowed us to enjoy our time in Spain with no worries. Everyone who asks about my trip hears about Saranjan. Thank you, thank you!

Diane Schwarz, South Orange, New Jersey

Camino de Santiago

The pilgrimage was one of the best experiences of my life! The kids and leaders thought Vicky and Merce were just wonderful. Very professional, encouraging, and informational. The youth haven't stopped talking about it. Thank you!

Gourmet and wine tour

A wonderful trip! I learned and saw so much, it made my head spin!! I can't say enough about how wonderful our guides were! Gabriella Ranelli, a rare gem! We learned so much from her. She was a marvelous friend to us--gracious, personable, intelligent. Great! Alba Martínex, a personable, kind, and knowledgeable person. She made us feel like her buddies. Really fun, too. The restaurants were fantastic. We got a taste of the real Spain: tapas, pinchos, tinto, and wild boar-to name just a few delicacies. Thank you for a memorable vacation.

Jill DeMarco, Seattle, WA

South Portugal

I came away convinced that the Alentejo is a much undersold area for North American tourism-an oversight that I will do my best to correct. The fact that Sofia has built such an impressive destination property (and excellent culinary program) just makes it all that easier.

David Lyon, Journalist, Cambridge, MA

Bilbao, Basque Country

Gabriella is an absolutely wonderful guide.

Burt & Ellen Zempsky, Woodbridge, CT

Portugal: Lisbon and the South

We really loved Portugal and appreciated all your ideas. Viana do Castelo was spectacular and we were so glad you sent us there. We loved the Refúgio da Vila; the service was amazing--please thank them for us. Staying in Sintra first was wonderful as it gave us such a beautiful introduction to the country.

Mr. & Mrs. Kamin, San Francisco, CA

Wine Roads

The time spent with Jeremy Watson was the highlight of the trip to Spain. His contacts with wineries were extensive and he was treated with the greatest respect. Raimat and Bodega Pirineos provided extensive tours, including vineyards at Raimat and full blown tastings of all their wines. It was exactly the type of experience I had hoped for.

Maureen Hamilton, Richland, WA

Camino de Santiago

Gene and I both want to congratulate you on conducting an absolutely incomparable trip. We felt the group was like a little family and you anticipated everything, preparing us for each leg of the journey... the climax was reaching Santiago and the cathedral. Gene managed to get spectacular video of the swinging of the butafumeiro... and also some of the chanters at the monastery at Leyre.

Helen and Gene Schmieden,Seattle, WA

Camino de Santiago

The itinerary was great! It was wonderful to see modern pilgrims on the road.

Marge Snipe, San Diego

Camino de Santiago

There were many highlights to our tour--Santiago, León, Burgos, Roncesvalles, winery tours and dinners, and our guide herself!

Shirley d'Andrea, Palo Alto, CA

Portugal

It was a great trip. I'm sending you a few pictures--the one of you at that infamous restaurant is terrific! I enjoyed the picturres you sent me but should have a record of my paramour, the Fado singer--Ha!

M. M., Seattle, WA

Andalucia

The food and wine were superb. Sarah's knowledge and pleasure enhanced my enjoyment of an already delightful series of meals. Carmona was my favorite--I loved that place.

Amie Slate, Los Angeles, CA

Madrid

We take back to our home in California a love of Madrid. Our guide Fernando was very knowledgeable as well as a very kind and enjoyable person.

Mario and Cathy Zecclur

Spain

Saw and did things we could not have done on our own... hard to believe we covered so much territory... can't say enough about our guide...

Bob Savard, Chicago

Spain

Everything would have exceeded our expectations if I hadn't already had high expectations after Compostela, my previous trip with Saranjan.

TO SARAH, CAROL AND SARANJAN TOURS

Six merry travelers in Barcelona did gather
Invigorated at once by the crisp, sunny weather

We were met in the lobby by Sarah most gracious
Accompanied by Carol and a van quite spacious

Off we drove, feeling foreign and exotic
Would we become chaotic or quixotic?

Our daily adventures were planned with great thought
Exploring, plus free time or a nap to be caught?

Picturesque lodgings in towns with great charm
Never, oh never, was there cause for alarm

The history, the mystery, the ancient glories
Our imaginations were challenged -- we devoured your stories

Wildflowers, cherubs, paintings in caves
And a men’s club dinner that inspired great raves

All was beyond what we had ever expected
As ancient civilizations became awesomely respected

The festive meals for both dinner and lunch
Were hardly just your normal munch

the wines did flow, our faces did glow
Sarah is an oenologist in the know!!

Our group was congenial -- our leaders SUPERB!!!!!
I can find not one negative -- no, nary a word

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! for a memorable trip
To Saranjan Tours it’s Hurray and Hip! Hip!
